The question I worked on was "What are the environmental difficulties in the Saltos del Monday?". While working on the project, I discovered that some of the environmental difficulties in that environment were the water quality and the pollution in and around the water.
I did this project because we had to do a made-up sustainable business in my Social Studies class, and it had to be a part of Paraguay. I found the landmark, the Saltos del Monday, and wanted to create a way to help with the environment and the water in the Saltos.
First, I had to make my essential question. After that, I had to find sources that would help me. Then I had to see some other businesses with a strong sustainability record. Then I had to figure out my whole budget for the things I planned on "buying", and then I had to decide where my business would be. Then I had to choose the business name, slogan, and logo, then create my 2D or 3D model of my sustainable business, which I made on Google Sites, then I had to get feedback, and then change or add a few things.
I don't know if it turned out working/being well because the point of the project in the Social Studies class was not actually to do the business, it was to create and plan it. But, if I were to actually make/start it, it would work because my sustainable business was that I set up a table, a cash register, and a pop-up canopy at every entrance to the Saltos del Monday (there are two), and there would be two people working per entrance, and I would have entrance fees. Locals had to pay 10 mil per person, visitors had to pay 30 mil per person, and the staff and their families had to pay two mil per person to enter. I use the money that I collect to help the environment and wildlife. My team and I do that by going to some farms nearby and asking them not to use chemicals and pesticides on their crops because when they water them or it rains, they enter streams and rivers and then later flow towards the Saltos del Monday. If the farmers agree, we will give them some money to get them started on other ways of keeping their crops healthy. If they continue to use the chemicals, they can make an irrigation system or a barrier around their farm so nothing flows into the rivers. If they disagree, that is fine because many more farmers will say yes! I will also use the money to help clean up some trash that we find near the Saltos, and to help the people and wildlife that use and drink the water.
My project shows that humans have been making the water in the Saltos del Monday not very clean. From this project, I learned everything that is happening at the Saltos del Monday, and why they are happening. From my sustainable business, I want people to understand why I am adding entry fees, how it is helpful, and how it can make a difference in our water supply.
Something I could do to make it better is make the things at the entrance where people pay a little fancier. Also, I could design a uniform with matching polo shirts with a logo and some design. And then also, I would buy walkie-talkies for everyone.
ChatGPT helped me a lot to get the information, and L helped me finalize my Google Sites. C looked at it and gave me feedback. I also used Amazon to help me with the things I would buy and to find their prices. In my Docs, Google helped me, as did blog.se.com, greencentury.com, and Google Maps.
Wow, this is a great project! I can see you learned a lot while doing this. The quality of your answers matches the quality of your work, this is truly impressive. You should be proud! Keep up the good work.
