We saw that a lot of little kids are attached mostly to smartphones, at the point of not using toys anymore and just finding fun on these devices.
As a consequence, we wanted to make something to keep them away from smartphones.
Each one of the group thought about the design they wanted to make, then we modeled it in the program Fusion 360 and then we built the mazes in wood with the CNC desktop milling machine, we sandpapered the mazes, painted them in the way we wanted and designed a slid with 3D printed corners and a laser cut transparent acrylic. The little spheres were also 3D printed.
After we tested the project on kids, they were fascinated by the mazes, every kid used each maze we built and they were very absorded into the mazes. We presented these mazes at the presentation of the creative building.
According to the kids, the mazes having different shapes, it was very fun to use them. We can understand that, even if the kids are addicted to some kind of devices or things, for this case, the phones, they can get the "fun" in other things.
We can make our project better if we try new didactic toys for them to use, like buildable toys or ones where they have to think for a way they can resolve a quiz.
We thank the working team and Teacher LS for the help.
